The collection features three handmade crochet dolls of Miffy and her friends Boris and Melanie wearing a dress featuring Matisse’s work La Gerbe, plus a miniature Miffy keychain, for those that want to carry a piece of the collaboration wherever you go. Each purchase of these handcrafted dolls help a group of disadvantaged women find work and a stable income.

Miffy’s creator Dick Bruna often cited Matisse as an inspiration behind his work. In the last years of his life, Matisse used 2-D paper cut-outs to create bold, simple shapes in bright colors. Bruna adapted this technique by first tracing his designs on to paper, then outlining them in black poster paint. Afterwards he cut up colored paper to fill in the chosen spaces on the page.
This collaboration between Miffy and Matisse combines the charm of a beloved character with the brilliance of a renowned artist. To start your own iconic partnership, reach out to [email protected] and explore how art licensing through ARS can set your brand apart!
