Artists Rights Society’s most recent licensed collection pairs Delvaux, the world’s oldest fine leather luxury goods company, with the work of Saul Steinberg, the artist famed worldwide for giving graphic definition to the postwar age. The partnership encompasses both the exhibition of restored Steinberg works and the Maison’s creation of an original silk scarf inspired by his artistic legacy.

Delvaux partnered with the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium to unveil a rare treasure in the company’s showroom during Paris Fashion Week in March 2024: three monumental panels from The Americans, the eight-panel collage-mural created by Saul Steinberg for the American Pavilion at the 1958 Brussels World’s Fair. Restored thanks to the patronage of Delvaux, these works are now back in Brussels, where they will be on exhibition in the museum’s galleries from May 21 to October 19, 2025.

This dialogue between Delvaux and Steinberg finds its origin in a shared moment: the 1958 World’s Fair. That year, Steinberg created The Americans, while Delvaux introduced le Brillant – its now-emblematic handbag, partially inspired by the radical design of the Philips Pavilion by Le Corbusier.

In March 2025, Delvaux had the honor of reintroducing Saul Steinberg’s masterworks—exceptionally loaned by the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium. These three murals became a central element of La Maison’s one-week installation-performance during Paris Fashion Week, Place Vendôme.

As part of this ongoing conversation between Delvaux and Steinberg, La Maison has also created a silk scarf, inspired by one of the artist’s original drawings. Echoing his iconic 1947 Harper’s Bazaar cover—where the Place Vendôme column rose as a beacon of fashion’s modern spirit—this exclusive piece connects past and present, Brussels and Paris.
