Alexander Calder + PUMA x BMW

Iconic sportswear brand PUMA and legendary motors company BMW teamed up with the Calder Foundation for a limited-edition collection inspired by Calder‘s BMW Art Car, licensed by Artists Rights Society!
The BMW Art Car project was born in the 1970s, when BMW and French auctioneer and race car driver Hervé Poulain commissioned Calder to paint a design on a BMW 3.0 CSL to be raced at Les 24 Heures du Mans. As with his mobiles and stabiles, Calder‘s BMW Art Car speaks to his interest in the social activation of sculpture, the dynamic force of color, and abstract forms moving through space. The legendary collaboration set in motion an entire BMW Art Car Collection program, a high-profile crossover with the art world.
PUMA pays homage to Calder‘s Art Car with this collection, which features apparel, footwear, and hats with the car’s broad swathes of colors, the motif of the car’s number 93, and Calder‘s signature. Celebrate the union of art and racing and shop the collection via PUMA.
