Artists Rights Society is thrilled to announce the Tiffany & Co. x Fondation César collection, a celebration of the jeweler’s long-standing connection with artists and an ode to the spirit of inventive artistry. Drawing from the works of César, the collection licensed by Artists Rights Society uplifts his fascination with the idea of repurposing objects to depart from convention. The artist’s home embodied this ethos, showcasing an array of cracked and shattered ceramic plates as works of art on kitchen walls. With this new Tiffany Home collection, the House reintroduces archival designs inspired by his work with broken plates onto dinner and drinkware for an exciting table setting.

The collaboration comes on the heels of the renowned French artist’s centenary in 2021, celebrated by the Fondation Cèsar and its President and Executive Director Stéphanie Busuttil-Janssen, galleries Almine Rech, Paris and Salon 94, through a series of major transatlantic exhibitions devoted to the ideas and achievements spanning César’s career.

The collection draws on the House’s legacy of artist collaborations— since Tiffany & Co.’s founding in 1837, the House has consistently fostered and collaborated with celebrated artists and creative luminaries like César. In this collection, inspired by his 1973 “broken plate” and archival Tiffany & Co. fine china designs, the plates have been reimagined to appear shattered, while the base colors are inspired by the bold hues of the House’s gemstones. “With our newest Tiffany Home collection, we pay homage to our heritage of uplifting unconventional artists—creative revolutionaries like César Baldaccini,” said Lauren Santo Domingo, Artist Director of Tiffany Home. “The collection taps into his radical creativity to express the notion of breaking conventions of modern living. At their core, these collections celebrate Tiffany’s heritage and our longstanding connection to the art world.”
